Hey there, my name is Sadie!

I am the newest member of the Caribou gifts team and am so excited to be here. 

I am a student at McGill University in Montreal, where I major in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice studies. I also have two minors in sociology and religious studies. I spend the summers here in the west end of Toronto with my family, where I have lived my whole life. It means so much to me to be working somewhere so close to everything I know and love, where community is so greatly valued. 

Aside from my interests in the subjects I study at school, I love to make art, listen to music, read, swim, and drink oat lattes. You can most often find me at my desk drawing pictures, beading jewelry, binding books, and building other little trinkets to gift to loved ones for their birthdays, accomplishments, or just as reminders that I love them. Getting to bring these passions for art, gifting, and decorating to work with me is so exciting. 

As a vegan who prioritizes shopping as locally and ethically as I can, and also cares about getting adorable and delicious products, Caribou has me covered. The Squish gummies are a favourite of mine, and the rainbow “Good Vibes” candy tube filled with different packs makes such a sweet gift. I also LOVE the Sunday Brunch knot shaped earrings we have right now. A few other favourites of mine are our gorgeous cedar and resin coasters, Charcoal and Rose Petal hand and body bars, and our Gift-a-Green greeting cards that grow right out of their packages. My favourite gift baskets have got to be the vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free basket, the lemony good basket, eucalyptus basket, and the date night basket. 

I am so excited to be spending the next few weeks here at our Humbertown store location, and then the rest of the summer at our new location in the Junction! I’ll be in the store hanging out, playing music, filling baskets, and chit chatting with whoever comes by!
